"Be not afraid!" Have you ever wondered whether this is an encouraging word,...or a command?
I have. If it is meant to calm us then it is very comforting and reassuring. But if it is an order, well then, I don't know about you, but I am in big trouble. Guilty of disobedience. Does than make it a sin to be afraid? Not a mortal one to be sure, but... If I really trusted God, then there would be nothing to fear...nothing at all.
So I guess my prayer for the day is
"Lord I trust you, help my mistrust".
